1. Agreement
By using Remem, you agree to these terms and the privacy notice. If you cannot lawfully agree to them, do not use the app or optional online services.
2. What Remem provides
Remem is a local-first tool for capturing and organising pins, note text, recordings and locations. It also offers optional account, purchase-linking and address capabilities when their requirements are met. Encrypted cloud backup and restore are not enabled in this version.
Remem is not an emergency, medical, legal, financial or safety-critical record service. Do not rely on it as the only copy of information whose loss could cause serious harm.
3. Your local content and device
You are responsible for the content you capture and for having the rights and permissions needed to record, store or share it. You are also responsible for keeping your device and any copies you choose to create secure.
Local data can be lost if it is deleted, app storage is cleared, the app is removed, or the device is lost or fails. This release has no Remem cloud-backup or cloud-restore action. Do not assume an operating-system backup includes Remem data; Android device backup is disabled for Remem. CSV and GPX exports omit recordings and are not a complete backup.
4. Optional accounts
A Remem account is optional for local use and for buying Premium through an available app store. An account can link a purchase identity across eligible signed-in sessions; it does not enable encrypted cloud backup in this version.
You are responsible for using the intended sign-in identity, protecting access to that identity and providing accurate information to the sign-in provider. Remem may deny an online request when identity, entitlement or service status cannot be verified.
5. Premium purchases
Google Play or Apple’s App Store, as applicable, displays the final price and billing terms before purchase and handles payment. Remem does not receive card or bank details. RevenueCat processes purchase identity and entitlement status so Remem can unlock eligible Premium features.
Monthly and Annual plans renew through the relevant app store unless cancelled in that store’s settings. Lifetime is a one-time purchase for the eligible product on that platform. Store rules govern billing, cancellation and refunds. Deleting a Remem account does not cancel a store subscription.
An eligible purchase may be restorable using the same store account. Android and iOS purchases do not automatically transfer between stores.
6. Encrypted cloud-backup availability
Encrypted cloud backup and restore are not enabled in this version. This release has no cloud-backup or cloud-restore action, does not upload pins, note text, locations or recordings through that feature, and does not include it as a current Premium benefit.
The release-disabled design is manual rather than continuous synchronisation and encrypts backup content on the device before any upload. Signing in alone does not start a backup.
If Remem enables encrypted backup in a future release, the app and these terms will identify its availability, eligibility, retention and limits before it can be used. The current release creates no remote backup through this feature. Local data remains on the device.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Remem or its online services to:
- break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
- access another person’s account, purchase identity or any future encrypted backup without permission;
- evade authentication, Premium verification, rate limits, fair-use controls or deletion safeguards;
- disrupt, probe, overload or damage the app, cloud service or its providers; or
- distribute malware or harmful automated traffic.
Online access may be limited or refused to protect users, the service and its providers, or to enforce these terms.
8. Availability and changes
Online capabilities depend on the device, connection, app store, Clerk, RevenueCat, Supabase, Vercel, OpenCage and other platform services. They may be interrupted, changed or unavailable. Remem’s design keeps local saving and recording separate from those online capabilities, but no feature is guaranteed to be error-free or permanently available.
Features may change to improve safety, reliability, compliance or product operation. Material changes to these terms will be shown by updating the effective date.
9. Responsibility and limits
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Remem is provided on an “as available” basis. You remain responsible for deciding whether the app is suitable for your use and for maintaining appropriate copies of important information.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. To the extent the law permits, Remem is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from unavailable online services, device loss, user deletion or failure to keep an appropriate backup.
10. Ending use and account deletion
You can stop using Remem at any time. A signed-in user can start account deletion from the app. Remem first asks its deletion service to prepare a durable, account-bound cleanup job. It then asks Clerk to delete the sign-in account and attempts to reset the on-device RevenueCat purchase identity before completing the prepared cleanup. If the app closes, the service can independently confirm Clerk account absence and resume fenced cloud and RevenueCat erasure. The cloud-write fence uses a one-way pseudonymous key. A separate RevenueCat retry guard retains the opaque Clerk user identifier previously used as the RevenueCat app-user identifier, plus expiry and retry metadata, so a purchase profile recreated by a stale device can be re-deleted. These safeguards are renewed while deletion is incomplete, kept for 30 days after completion, and then automatically deleted. The production deletion service is not currently configured, so online account deletion cannot yet complete. Encrypted cloud backup is disabled, so this version creates no remote backup through that feature.
The in-app Delete account choice keeps local data. The separate Delete account and all local memories choice also removes local pins and retained recordings from that device after account deletion completes. An external deletion request cannot erase local-only device data. RevenueCat customer deletion does not cancel a store subscription or delete the store’s transaction records. If the app cannot confirm an online cleanup step, it reports that outcome so you can retry or contact support. If you cannot access the app, the external Remem deletion page lets you request account and associated-data deletion without reinstalling the app. Support verifies ownership before changing provider data and does not treat receipt of a request as proof of completion.
