1. Agreement
These terms are between you and Remem Technologies Limited, the company that provides Remem. It is registered in England and Wales under company number 17396915. By using Remem, you agree to these terms and the privacy notice. If you cannot lawfully agree to them, do not use the app or optional online services.
2. What Remem provides
Remem is a local-first tool for capturing and organising pins, note text, recordings and locations. Signed-out Home and List show bundled, immutable examples; every real pin belongs from creation to one exact signed-in Remem account. On Remem Web, Android and iOS, signed-in Free and Premium use the same local-first encrypted Sync.
Remem is not an emergency, medical, legal, financial or safety-critical record service. Do not rely on it as the only copy of information whose loss could cause serious harm.
3. Your local content and device
You are responsible for the content you capture and for having the rights and permissions needed to record, store or share it. You are also responsible for keeping your device and any copies you choose to create secure.
Local data can be lost if it is deleted, app storage is cleared, the app is removed, or the device is lost or fails. Encrypted Sync may make eligible content available on another connected device, but it should not be treated as the only copy of important information. Do not assume an operating-system backup includes Remem data; Android device backup is disabled for Remem. CSV and GPX exports omit recordings and are not a complete backup.
4. Accounts
Signed-out Home and List show bundled, immutable example pins; creating or owning a real pin requires sign-in. Premium plans, prices and purchase controls appear only after sign-in. Signing in automatically reconciles an eligible purchase owned by that exact Remem account, but does not itself grant Premium or start a charge; a separate deliberate checkout action is required. The same Remem sign-in lets eligible Premium access and account-owned pins follow the account across Remem Web, Android and iOS.
You are responsible for using the intended sign-in identity, protecting access to that identity and providing accurate information to the sign-in provider. Remem may deny an online request when identity, entitlement or service status cannot be verified.
5. Premium purchases
Remem Web payments use Stripe Checkout through RevenueCat’s secure hosted purchase flow. For an eligible transaction processed in Managed Payments mode, Stripe’s Link service is shown as merchant of record and handles payment, applicable indirect tax, fraud, disputes and transaction support. If checkout uses standard Stripe Billing instead, Remem is the seller and responsible for the applicable transaction obligations. Google Play or Apple’s App Store handles a purchase started in the corresponding phone app. The checkout provider displays the seller, final price and billing terms before you confirm. Remem does not receive card or bank details. RevenueCat processes purchase identity and entitlement status so Remem can unlock eligible Premium features.
Monthly and Annual plans renew through the provider used for the purchase unless cancelled through that provider. Lifetime is a one-time purchase. The original provider’s rules govern billing, cancellation and refunds. Deleting a Remem account does not cancel a subscription.
One eligible Premium purchase can unlock Remem Web, Android and iOS after it is linked to a Remem account and you use that same Remem sign-in on each device. A web purchase does not create an Apple App Store or Google Play transaction; the linked Premium entitlement unlocks Remem on those devices.
6. Encrypted cloud Sync
On Remem Web, Android and iOS, encrypted Sync starts automatically for the exact signed-in Free or Premium account. Remem recovers the account’s Sync key through its authenticated service and encrypts eligible content on the device before upload. Signing out hides personal content and stops active Sync without silently deleting the retained account collection. Account deletion and local-data removal are separate explicit actions.
Eligible pins, note text, saved precise locations, recordings, eligible photos, deletions and five portable locale settings (language, region, date format, time format and week start) may synchronise between connected devices. Other settings are not included. A deliberate eligible-pin deletion on one connected device may remove the corresponding pin from another after revision and conflict checks.
Offline changes remain queued and are synchronised while Remem is open, in the foreground and connected. Background delivery is not guaranteed. Revision checks and deletion tombstones may identify conflicts. Remem does not silently discard either pin version. Android and iOS automatically preserve both versions as separate pins in the same account collection. Remem Web requires the user to select Keep this device or Use other device before that conflict is applied.
Sync is subject to the service limits in force for the signed-in account. These terms do not promise a fixed storage quota or retention window. Premium ending preserves and synchronises every existing pin and photo and allows them to be managed. It blocks only another admission at the applicable Free boundary until the count falls below it.
Every customer should keep an appropriate independent copy of important information. Online or timely Sync availability is not guaranteed. Sync is not a guaranteed backup, version-history or recovery service. This is separate from a deliberate eligible-pin deletion synchronised between connected devices.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Remem or its online services to:
- break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
- access another person’s account, purchase identity or any encrypted or synchronised cloud data without permission;
- evade authentication, Premium verification, rate limits, fair-use controls or deletion safeguards;
- disrupt, probe, overload or damage the app, cloud service or its providers; or
- distribute malware or harmful automated traffic.
Online access may be limited or refused to protect users, the service and its providers, or to enforce these terms.
8. Availability and changes
Online capabilities depend on the device, connection, app store, Clerk, RevenueCat, Supabase, Vercel, OpenCage and other platform services. They may be interrupted, changed or unavailable. Remem’s design keeps local saving and recording separate from those online capabilities, but no feature is guaranteed to be error-free or permanently available.
Features may change to improve safety, reliability, compliance or product operation. Material changes to these terms will be shown by updating the effective date.
9. Responsibility and limits
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Remem is provided on an “as available” basis. You remain responsible for deciding whether the app is suitable for your use and for maintaining appropriate copies of important information.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. To the extent the law permits, Remem is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from unavailable online services, device loss, user deletion or failure to keep an appropriate backup.
10. Ending use and account deletion
You can stop using Remem at any time. A signed-in user can start account deletion from the app. Remem first asks its deletion service to prepare a durable, account-bound cleanup job. It then asks Clerk to delete the sign-in account and attempts to reset the on-device RevenueCat purchase identity before completing the prepared cleanup. If the app closes, the service can independently confirm Clerk account absence and resume fenced cloud and RevenueCat erasure. The cloud-write fence uses a one-way pseudonymous key. A separate RevenueCat retry guard retains the opaque Clerk user identifier previously used as the RevenueCat app-user identifier, plus expiry and retry metadata, so a purchase profile recreated by a stale device can be re-deleted. These safeguards are renewed while deletion is incomplete, kept for 30 days after completion, and then automatically deleted. The app reports whether online deletion completes or needs a retry; an unconfirmed attempt must not be treated as complete. Associated encrypted cloud data is included in the online cleanup.
Account deletion and local-data removal are separate explicit actions. The in-app deletion flow states its current scope and warnings before confirmation. An external deletion request cannot erase local-only device data. RevenueCat customer deletion does not cancel a subscription or delete the payment provider’s transaction records. If the app cannot confirm an online cleanup step, it reports that outcome so you can retry or contact support. If you cannot access the app, the external Remem deletion page lets you request account and associated-data deletion without reinstalling the app. Support verifies ownership before changing provider data and does not treat receipt of a request as proof of completion.
